LIFEGARD® AQUATICS can supply your needs for Hydroponics or Aquaponics commercial or residential systems. Aquaponics and Hydroponics are both soil-free methods of cultivating crops. In a Hydroponic system, plants are placed in nutrient-enriched water which they easily absorb. Hydroponic systems show a much higher crop growth and yields. In an Aquaponics system, one component is a hydroponic bed with nutrient enriched solution. The other component is a tank or aquarium wherein fish are grown. The tank becomes filled with excreta and other waste matter. Aquaponics systems use the waste matter from the fish tank. This water is passed on to the Hydroponic section where it replaces the water depleted of nutrients. This nutrient free water from the hydroponics section is not usable by the plants but is safe for the fish, being free of waste matter. This water is sent to the fish tank until it contains waste again. The process is then repeated with the fish waste converted to plant nutrients and tank water replaced by waste water from the Hydroponic area.
